SOLE

Sole: Survivors of Life's Experiences is a 12 Step program put on by LDS Family Services. Please contact your local LDS Family Services to see if there is a SOLE group in your area.

Step 1: We admit that we were victims of traumatic life experiences (abuse) and that we were powerless over the behavior that was perpetrated upon us.

Step 2: We have come to believe that Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ can restore us to a position of self worth.

Step 3: We have made a decision to turn our lives over to the care of our Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ.

Step 4: We have made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

Step 5: We admit the exact nature of our weaknesses.

Step 6: We humbly ask Heavenly Father to remove all our stumbling blocks as well as our shortcomings.

Step 7: We make a list of all the persons we have harmed, and become willing to make amends to them all.

Step 8: We make direct amends to all the individuals we have harmed wherever possible except when to do so would injure them or others.

Step 9: We seek to improve our relationships with our Heavenly Father by continuing to take personal inventory, by forgiving those who have offended us and by praying for the knowledge and the power to carry out Heavenly Father's will in our lives.

Step 10: Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we will carry this message to our families, and to other survivors where appropriate, and commit ourselves to practice these principles in our daily lives.

Step 11: We join with our families and (eternal) companions in establishing new boundaries and forming new and more appropriate relationships.

Step 12: We commit to maintaining a relationship with God, adjoining ourselves with His Kingdom and enduring to the end.
