7/14/2009

Tonight while I was at the friends house I got a text from another friend who I met in group #2. She asked if I was busy or if I could talk to her via Facebook chat. My friend told me I could use her Internet/ computer and I got on and talked to my friend. At the end of the conversation she said she was sorry for interrupting my life. I told her it was okay and I loved talked to her. She told me that she knew it, but it was hard to convince herself of that and I was one of two people she could really turn to. I'm holding back the tears, because I know the feeling. We are exactly 5 years apart in age and every time she says she feels a certain way I flashback to then I was her age. I too had few people I could turn to or trust. At the end of my second group we had to play a song that represented us after group. I picked "Not Too Far From Here" by Hillary Weeks. The song has a double meaning and is bitter-sweet. Back, 6 years ago, I used to listen to his song and cry, thinking I was the "Someone" and how I need some help to just make it through. By the end of group #2 I was feeling like the opposite of the song. I wanted to be "I, me" and to be able to help the other "someone's". Tonight I felt like I just might be on that road and I LOVE it.

Hillary Weeks, Not Too Far From Here
Somebody's down to thier last dime
Somebody's running out of time
Not too far from here
Somebody's got nowhere else to go
Somebody needs a little hope
Not too far from here
And I may not know their name
But I'm praying just the same
That You'll use me Lord to wipe away a tear
Cause somebody's crying
Not too far from here

Somebody's troubled and confused
Somebody's got nothing left to lose
Not too far from here
Somebody's forgotten how to trust
Somebody's dying for love
Not too far from here
It may be a stranger's face
But I'm praying for Your grace
To move in me and take away the fear
Cause somebody's hurting
Not too far from here

Help me Lord not to turn away from pain
Help me not to rest while those around me weep
Give me Your strength and compassion
When somebody finds the road of life too steep

Somebody's troubled and confused
Somebody's got nothing left to lose
Not too far from here
Somebody's forgotten how to trust
And somebody's dying for love
Not too far from here
Now I'm letting down my guard
And I'm opening my heart
Help me speak Your love to every needlful ear
Someone is waiting not too far from here
Someone is waiting not too far from here
