Shifting Perspective

I found this article-Recovering from Abuse - Shifting Perspective.

Even though I don't agree with 100% of it, there are some really good points. It made me think of when I had stopped seeing Aaron and I didn't know what to do. I asked Joy for some advise. I posted that story -here-.

What I'm getting at and what I liked about the article was that sometimes we need to change our perspective. Like Joy explained to me, you can only have one thought/ memory going through your head at once. What you need to learn to do is to change what thoughts you let go through your mind continuously. (Am I making any sense? This is why I am not a therapist) So instead of dwelling on Jack, I needed to change my perspective and replaced Jack with thinking about my wedding day for example.
