Music Monday, He Is

Back when I was 16, my best friend A and I went to EFY in Idaho. It was the first time I went. I went the next year with my cousin and coincidentally went to the same town I now live in. Both years one of the main "teachers" was a guy named Kory Kunz. He was an amazing teacher and also a singer/songwriter. For each class he always had a song to go with it, some are serious and other ones are funny. But they all have amazing messages behind them. For the next few weeks I'll post some of my favorites.

Who can I tell who'll understand the way I feel
I'm all alone, there's no one that I can tell
On my knees I feel the pain
I pray to feel his love again
Only a friend forgives me time and time again

He is my friend
He suffers for my pain
He gives when I have nothing left to pay
And he lives, he cries when I lose my way
He loves in my darkest day
When no one is my friend, he is

As I pray he is by my side
He calls my name, I wonder why
For this man would suffer, bleed and die
Suddenly I see him fall and on his knees he suffers all
He looks at me and I see a tear drop fall

He is my friend
He suffers for my pain
He gives when I have nothing left to pay
And he lives, he cries when I lose my way
He loves in my darkest day
When no one is my friend, he is

So if your life feels cold and darkened by the storm
You feel you can't go home
And you're all alone
A friend is standing there
Someone who really cares
He's felt the pain you bear deep inside his soul,
Long ago

He is my friend
He suffers for my pain
He gives when I have nothing left to pay
And he lives, he cries when I lose my way
He loves in my darkest day
When no one is my friend, he is
When no one is my friend, he is
